Can the Clippers Hold Off the Miami Heat?
January 23rd, 2012
The Staples Center will be alive on January 11th when the Miami Heat takes on the Los Angeles Clippers. The Heat arrives with one of the top records in the league, based mainly on their great lineup of stars. The Heat lead the league as a team in points scored and assists. Vegas has the Heat favored by 8 points and with the backcourt they possess, it is probably a safe bet.
Miami brings continuous scoring with star SF LeBron James leading the others. SG Dwyane Wade also brings potent scoring at the 2 spot with PF Chris Bosh’s steady play at the 3. PF Udonis Haslem and PG Mario Chalmers hold up the rear with a steady supply of assists and rebounds to support the Heat attack. The Heat hope to make it deep in the playoffs this year after nearly winning it all last year.
The Clippers have a long-standing problem of barely average play under the ownership of Donald Sterling. However, things have changed in the last couple of years with breakout stars such as Blake Griffin changing the landscape for Los Angeles’ “other team.” The Clips aim to compete for a playoff invitation this year in the very strong Pacific Division.
